The associations Autour des Williams and Fédération Williams France are launching a new international call for research proposals on Williams-Beuren syndrome. Funding will be awarded to research projects focused on Williams syndrome. Projects will be selected by the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee and by members of the Boards of Directors. This year, a total of 64,000 € will be awarded to research projects on Williams-Beuren syndrome.
Projects will be evaluated according to methodology, relevance, feasibility, impact on patients’ well-being, and scientific originality. The French Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) supports this initiative, and synergy with a CNRS-funded project will be considered an asset. Deadline for proposal submission is September 1, 2026.
Projects will be reviewed by both experts and non-experts (members of the associations’ Boards of Directors) and must include:
- A clear project description understandable to non-specialists, written in either French or English
- The objectives and expected benefits
- A detailed budget request
- The total length of the proposal must not exceed four pages
If your project is selected, a detailed final report will be required at the end of the funding period, summarizing the main scientific outcomes and providing a financial statement. We also request that the project and any resulting findings be presented orally to the families. You can find the list of projects funded in previous years on the associations’ websites.
Please send your proposals to research@autourdeswilliams.org
About Autour des Williams
Autour des Williams is a French-speaking association that brings together families affected by Williams-Beuren syndrome. Autour des Williams welcomes families who have recently received a diagnosis and supports them throughout their lives. The association is also committed to uniting families and creating a supportive network, raising awareness of Williams syndrome, and working on issues related to learning, employment, and inclusion. One of the association’s objectives is to fund scientific research programs. The funds raised come from several sources: donations, awards, private grants, and sales (calendars, t-shirts, etc.). They are made possible by our generous donors and the persistent and dynamic work of the families.
About Fédération Williams France
The Fédération WILLIAMS FRANCE brings together and represents regional associations that work together to connect families across France. Its mission is to provide moral and practical support to people with Williams syndrome and their loved ones, to organize leisure activities
and adapted holidays, opportunities for meeting and sharing at national conferences, to raise public awareness of Williams syndrome, and to encourage and support medical and scientific research on Williams and Beuren syndrome.
